IBBT proposes to establish in partnership with the Commonwealth government and corporate Australia a Business Migrant Induction, advisory and referral program.
BMIP is an intensive five-day business management workshop with a six-month post program advisory and referral service that aims to assist business migrants to quickly establish and successfully develop their businesses by:
- Providing the practical knowledge and understanding of Australia's statutory requirements and commercial and industry infrastructure
- Connecting migrants to government business support and assistance programs
- Linking migrants to private sector and professional networks that practically assist in the establishment and development of their businesses; and
- Providing post program mentoring and referral services
Migrants who wish to quickly establish and successfully operate new businesses lack the knowledge of existing networks and support structures or even where to seek advice.
There are English language issues, difficulties in complying with Governments statutory obligations, inability to access business support and assistance programs or understand how business is conducted in Australia
Failure to properly address any of these issues by new business prospects can present barriers or delays to business establishment; under performance; non-compliance or business failure.
Consequences of this to Australia are lost jobs, slower job creation, lost revenue, lost export opportunities and commensurate negative impact on balance of payments
BMIP aims to increase participatory rates and accelerate business establishment for migrants that have indicated they wish to commence business in Australia. This will achieve multiplier effects on increased jobs, increased revenue to government (corporate and private tax), increased exports and positive effects to balance of payments.
